There’s another small improvement coming! Version 1.2.2 is now in for review with Apple and displays which of your friends are attending an event - right from the main Friends’ Events screen. I can’t say when it’ll go live (Apple seem to be taking far longer to review app updates now that the iPad is out) but it’s in the queue!

Happening v1.2 is now available on the App Store. A free update for all you folks who’ve already bought it, the new version’s biggest new feature is the brand-spangling new icon - designed by Mr Dan Counsell, accompanied with a slick new hue in the UI. Happening remains just $1.99 in an App Store near you - for your viewing pleasure, here’s the icon at lickable large size
Happening’s use of geolocation made it easy to find events near me. It turns out that pub quiz hosts love Upcoming with a passion, and I happen to love pub quizzes. Result: one test run of Happening revealed something to do on every night of the week.
Happening 1.1 went live late yesterday, complete with a number of improvements and the big new RSVP feature! The update is, of course, free of charge to those who’ve already bought Happening - with the price remaining unchanged at $1.99 for a copy if you haven’t yet picked up one. You can re-download the app from the App Store or use the Updates areas in iTunes or the App Store app to grab it.

There’s been plenty going on at HQ recently, with 1.1 just around the corner. As I finish up the release, I thought I’d post a few links!
If you’re a Happening fan, you can now add it to your account on iusethis!
A beautiful new icon will be shipping with Happening 1.1.1 - and if you’re a Dribbble user you can take a sneak-peek of it! If you don’t have a Dribbble account, don’t worry. Version 1.1 is wrapping up development (and will be entering testing in the next couple of days). The hope (and I must reiterate hope) is to have the update in for Apple’s approval sometime next week, with the aim being to have the update live during SXSW.
The 1.1 update will have just one large feature: the ability to RSVP to events. It’s something I’ve wanted since day 1 - however due to a few API bugs on Upcoming’s end, it wasn’t feasible to add it in time for 1.0. After 1.1 is out, I’ll be looking to add the Fire Eagle and Twitter features in subsequent updates.

I’m thrilled to announce that Happening is now available on the App Store, priced $1.99. Work on v1.1, with the all-important RSVP feature, is continuing and I’ll be sure to post here with more details on its progress soon.
Last night I submitted Happening for Apple’s approval. Since announcing the app at the end of last year, I’ve been spending a tonne of time trying to get the application ready, trying to obtain the API access from Yahoo that the application needs, and recovering from a broken cheek bone after a failed mugging.
As soon as there’s news to announce, you’ll hear it here first. In the meantime, the Happening Twitter account is alive and kicking (as is my own personal one) and they’re the best place to stay up to date with Happening news.
